{"id":754,"date":"2019-08-23T16:33:12","date_gmt":"2019-08-23T16:33:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.2kmedicalbilling.net\/Lytec-Blog\/?p=754"},"modified":"2021-01-28T23:19:42","modified_gmt":"2021-01-28T23:19:42","slug":"lytec-patient-payments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.2kmedicalbilling.net\/Lytec-Blog\/lytec-patient-payments\/","title":{"rendered":"How to add patient copayments and payments in Lytec"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-vimeo\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/355582643\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp; If a patient is making a payment, for instance\nfor a co-pay, there are a couple different ways it can be entered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp; One way would be to highlight a transaction line, then hit <strong>F5<\/strong> (on your keyboard), or click the <strong>Detail<\/strong> button, then <strong>Pay Item<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"581\" height=\"314\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalbilling.net\/Lytec-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-4.png?resize=581%2C314&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-756\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalbilling.net\/Lytec-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-4.png?w=581&amp;ssl=1 581w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalbilling.net\/Lytec-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-4.png?resize=300%2C162&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 581px) 100vw, 581px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp; This will call up the <strong>Pay Item<\/strong> window.&nbsp; Enter the (<em>payment<\/em>) <strong>Date<\/strong>, <strong>TX Code<\/strong> (<em>this\n<\/em><em>should be one of your Patient Payment\ncodes<\/em>), optionally a <strong>Reference<\/strong>\n(<em>like the check number, or a note\nindicating what this payment is for<\/em>), and the <strong>Payment<\/strong> amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.&nbsp; You can add additional payments at this time\nby clicking the <strong>Payment<\/strong>\nbutton on the bottom of the <strong>Pay Item<\/strong> window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.&nbsp; Click <strong>OK<\/strong> when finished, then <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.&nbsp; An alternate way of entering patient\npayments, which also allows you print a receipt for the patient or insured,\nwould be through the Patient record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.&nbsp; To enter a payment using this alternate\nmethod, on the main menu click <strong>Lists<\/strong>, then <strong>Patient<\/strong>, then <strong>Patients<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.&nbsp; Lookup or enter the <strong>Patient Chart<\/strong>.&nbsp; Then on the right-hand side of the window, click\nthe <strong>Patient<\/strong>\nbutton, then <strong>Prepayment\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9.&nbsp; This will open the <strong>Setup Prepayment <\/strong>Window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"564\" height=\"249\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalbilling.net\/Lytec-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-5.png?resize=564%2C249&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-757\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalbilling.net\/Lytec-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-5.png?w=564&amp;ssl=1 564w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalbilling.net\/Lytec-Blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-5.png?resize=300%2C132&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 564px) 100vw, 564px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>10. Enter <strong>Prepayment Amount<\/strong>,\nthe <strong>Date Entered<\/strong>,\nand a <strong>Transaction\nCode <\/strong>(<em>this should be a patient\npayment code<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12. Optionally\nyou can enter a <strong>Reference<\/strong>\n(<em>typically a check number, or note about\nthe payment<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>13. You can\nnow click the <strong>Print<\/strong>\nbutton, then <strong>Print<\/strong>\nor <strong>Preview\nReport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>14.
