opposed to an alpha-character description.\u00a0 Codes can be entered ICD-9 or ICD-10, but it is recommended to use ICD-10 as the base code.\u00a0 Also enter a <strong>Description<\/strong>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"533\" height=\"378\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;\nStarting October 1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2015, claims should be sent with ICD-10\ndiagnosis codes, so the ICD-9 fields are not required, but it is recommended,\nif possible, to complete all ICD-9 and ICD-10 fields in a Diagnosis Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.\u00a0 Enter the <strong>ICD-10 Code<\/strong> and <strong>ICD-10 Description<\/strong>, and if possible, also enter the <strong>ICD-9 Code<\/strong> and <strong>ICD-9 Description<\/strong>.\u00a0 You can use the <strong>Copy<\/strong> buttons to copy info from the above fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.&nbsp;\nOptionally, you can assign the Diagnosis Code to a <strong>Graphics Category <\/strong>(<em>for reporting purposes, which will be\ncovered in a later session<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.&nbsp;\nClick <strong>Save<\/strong>\nwhen finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.\u00a0 While on the Diagnosis Codes window, you can click the magnifying glass icon to call up the <strong>Find Diagnosis<\/strong> window.\u00a0 In this window, you can <strong>Search by<\/strong> any of the code or description fields, and choose whether the <strong>Filter Type<\/strong> is \u201cIncludes\u201d, \u201cBegins With\u201d or \u201cEnds With\u201d.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"475\" height=\"413\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>8.&nbsp;\nYou can also <strong>Add\u2026<\/strong> new codes, <strong>Edit\u2026<\/strong> existing codes, change the\nFind Diagnosis grid <strong>Layout\u2026<\/strong>, or reset to default by\nclicking the <strong>Window\nReset<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9.\u00a0 If you cannot find a code that has been entered it may have been marked Inactive, in which case you can place a check mark in the <strong>Inactive<\/strong> box to see those codes.\u00a0 If a code was started, but no ICD-9 or ICD-10 value was entered, you may need to uncheck both <strong>ICD-9<\/strong> and <strong>ICD-10<\/strong> display options to find it.<br> <br>10.\u00a0 You can also search for and add new codes using the <strong>ICD-10 Lookup<\/strong> button.\u00a0 The following window will appear.\u00a0 You can <strong>Search<\/strong> by code, description, or key words.
